Solidarity with the Workers of the French Multinational DANONE against the Layoffs The National Federation of Workers in Food Industries of Greece, a member of PAME and WFTU, denounces the DANONE group for the thousands of layoffs it is planning in France and around the world and we express our Solidarity with the workers, the unions and the Trade Union International UIS AGRO that resist the plans of the multinational.
The French Food multinational DANONE has announced a new global layoff plan. To increase its already high profitability, they want to lay off more than 2,000 workers worldwide, including 500 in France. Behind these numbers are families being pushed into poverty, rising unemployment, hunger. Many workers, along with their unions, are already fighting DANONE in many countries to defend their jobs.
